Over at Huffington Post, James Elkins writes about his pick for most beautiful painting in the world.  There’s a moral to story, the typical Elkins anti-Aesop’s moral that comes in the form of a question, about the responsibility of scholarship.  I’m sure that’s interesting to all of us, though it’s frankly hard to do anything other than just drool over the plentiful detail images accompanying the essay.
