In October of 2009, Sam linked to an NYTimes article about the art the Obamas had chosen to hang in the White House. It was a nice list: thoughtful, tasteful, maybe leaning a tad toward the genteel, but smart and nice to read about. Included were Richard Diebenkorn, Ed Ruscha, Morandi, Louis Nevelson and other. I’ve been thinking of late though, with the political scene changed as it is since then, that maybe I’d suggest some different art for those walls. Maybe something a little bolder…Ed Paschke, Mike Kelley, Robert Colescott…like that. I’m curious about you, too, what new additions to the collection would you like to see?
