Rothko + patterns?
I like the (anti-) composition. At first glance, it feels like a stage set with no actors, but the strangeness of that ends up being pretty satisfying.
Looks like she’s kind of taken a turn toward the slice-and-dice style thing more recently. Reminds me of late Braque.
Yeah, I think we’re into the sublime again. To the list of references and comparisons, I’d add “example of forward thinking 80s P & D painting.”
